Maritime Trade Mission to India

7 February 2010

Maritime equipment suppliers will visit India from February 7 until February 12. These suppliers participate in an trade mission of the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, headed by Minister Heemskerk.

State-of-the-art technology
The Dutch have a long tradition in the production of innovative maritime solutions. As a seafaring nation we have always had many shipbuilding activities in our country, which brings the industry great international status. The Dutch dredging companies, for example, belong to the world leaders and the Dutch shipyards build very complex ships. Also, the Netherlands have the largest inland shipping fleet of Europe, the offshore sector is flourishing and our navy has some of the most modern ships in the world. Last but not least, the Netherlands are building very exclusive megayachts and Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe.

Much of the equipment on board is supplied by independent Dutch companies that are active world wide and offer state-of-the-art technology. The strength of the Dutch maritime equipment suppliers lies within their power to continuously innovate and cooperate.

Trade mission
This trade mission to India is a good and effective way for Indian companies to get acquainted with Dutch suppliers. The maritime trade mission will focus on Maharastra and Goa. The Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management has only one goal with this trade mission. To support the Dutch maritime industry in their business activities with India.

Program
